South Korea Student Work Rights 2026

International students on a D-2 visa can work part-time during their studies in South Korea. After graduation, some may switch to another visa to stay and look for work.

Students with a D-2 visa are allowed to work part-time while studying, as long as they follow their visa conditions and get permission from the immigration office before starting work.

During the semester, work is allowed up to 20 hours per week. Vacation periods allow full-time work, which can help students support themselves while studying in South Korea.

After finishing a course, graduates may apply for another visa category, including the D-10 Job Seeker Visa. This can let them stay in South Korea for up to six months to look for work in their field.

Some graduates may also extend their stay if they secure a job offer from a South Korean employer. The D-2 visa itself is for study, so post-graduation work depends on changing to another visa route.
