Overview
A Government of India scheme funding SC/ST and other notified students for Master's and PhD study abroad.
The National Overseas Scholarship funds students from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other notified categories to pursue Master's and PhD study at top universities abroad, opening world-class education to communities that have historically had less access to it.
Eligibility
- Belong to SC / ST / landless agricultural labourer / traditional artisan / de-notified nomadic category as notified.
- Secured admission to a top-ranked foreign university (typically within the QS top 500).
- Family income within the notified ceiling.
- Within the scheme's age limit.
Benefits
- Full tuition fees paid to the foreign university.
- An annual maintenance/living allowance.
- Economy airfare and visa/incidental costs.
- Contingency and equipment allowances as applicable.
How to apply
- Secure admission to an eligible top-ranked foreign university.
- Apply on the National Overseas Scholarship portal (nosmsje.gov.in) within the window.
- Upload category, income, admission and academic documents.
- Clear the selection/interview and complete visa formalities on award.
