Fully-funded UK Master's and PhD scholarships for talented students from India and other Commonwealth nations.
Commonwealth Scholarships fund talented students from India and other Commonwealth countries to pursue fully-funded Master's and PhD study in the UK. They prioritise candidates who could not otherwise afford UK study and who will contribute to development in their home country.
Eligibility
- Indian citizen (or refugee/British protected person) permanently resident in India.
- Hold, by the start of the course, a first or upper second-class undergraduate degree (and a relevant Master's for PhD).
- Unable to afford UK study without this funding.
- Meet the specific requirements of the chosen course and pathway.
Benefits
- Full tuition fees paid to the UK university.
- A monthly living (maintenance) stipend.
- Return airfare between India and the UK.
- Thesis, study-travel and, where applicable, family allowances.
How to apply
- Apply through a nominating body in India (or the eligible pathway) within the deadline.
- Complete the Commonwealth Scholarship online application (EAS).
- Provide your study/research proposal and references.
- Secure UK university admission as required by the pathway.
- Attend selection and complete pre-departure formalities on award.
