The UGC Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) is the standard research fellowship awarded to students who clear UGC-NET with JRF, funding MPhil and PhD research across universities in India. It is the backbone of funded humanities and sciences research in the country.

Eligibility

  • Qualified UGC-NET (or CSIR-UGC NET) with Junior Research Fellowship.
  • Pursuing or admitted to an MPhil/PhD at a recognised university.
  • Within the validity period and age limits of the JRF award.

Benefits

  • ��37,000 per month for the first two years (JRF), rising to ₹42,000 (SRF) thereafter.
  • House Rent Allowance and an annual contingency grant as applicable.
