The UK government's global scholarship for future leaders to pursue a one-year Master's degree.

Chevening is the UK government's global scholarship programme, funding future leaders to pursue a one-year Master's degree at any UK university. It places strong weight on leadership, networking and a clear plan to create impact after returning home.

Eligibility

  • Indian citizen intending to return to India for at least two years after the scholarship.
  • An undergraduate degree that qualifies for a UK Master's.
  • Usually at least two years (about 2,800 hours) of work experience.
  • Apply to and receive an unconditional UK Master's offer within Chevening's timeline.

How to apply

  • Apply online on the Chevening website within the annual window (usually opens around August).
  • Write the four Chevening essays (leadership, networking, study plan, career plan).
  • Apply separately to three eligible UK Master's courses.
  • Attend a Chevening interview if shortlisted.
  • Submit one unconditional offer and complete the remaining requirements.
