The UQ Dr Paul Stuart McCarthy Memorial Prize 2026 is offered by the University of Queensland (UQ) to support a medical student. It provides partial funding of AUD 3,000. The prize was established in 2008 from an AUD 25,000 contribution by Mrs. Haila McCarthy in memory of her son, Dr. Paul Stuart McCarthy.

Eligibility

Applicant must be enrolled in Year 4 of the Doctor of Medicine program at the University of Queensland.
Applicant must have undertaken an approved clinical rotation in the year of the award.
The clinical rotation must have been completed interstate or overseas.
Open to all nationals.
