The Sir John Monash Scholarships for Distinction at Monash University 2026 are offered by Monash University in Australia. They provide partial funding of up to AUD 8,000 per annum for Bachelors degrees across all subjects. The scholarship supports high-achieving students with excellent academic merit and outgoing personalities. Eligibility is open to Australian and New Zealand nationals, including Australian permanent residents and humanitarian visa holders. Applicants must be current Australian Year 12 or International Baccalaureate students, or have completed Year 12 in the previous year without other tertiary study. No separate application is required; eligible students who list Monash University as a VTAC course preference are automatically assessed.

Eligibility

Applicants must be Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens, Australian permanent residents, or Australian humanitarian visa holders.
Candidates must be current Australian Year 12 or International Baccalaureate students.
Students should have completed Year 12 in the previous year and have not undertaken any other tertiary study.
For non-Indigenous Australians, awarded to all eligible students who achieve an ATAR of 99.95+ or equivalent.
For Indigenous Australians, awarded to the top ten eligible students who achieve an ATAR of 85.00+ or equivalent.

Benefits

$8000 per annum (48 credit points of study) up to a maximum of four years. (For scholarships awarded from 2024).
