Overview

The Canada Graduate Scholarships-Master’s (CGS-M) Program at the University of Toronto is offered by the University of Toronto. It provides partial funding of CAD 27,000 to support master’s and doctoral students in developing research skills and training as highly qualified personnel. The award recognises exceptional performance in undergraduate and early graduate studies. Eligibility is open to citizens or permanent residents of Canada who are enrolled full-time in an eligible graduate program at a Canadian institution with a CGS-M allocation. Applicants must not have held or currently hold a CGS-M scholarship from CIHR, NSERC, or SSHRC, nor an Indigenous Scholars Award and Supplement. They must have a first-class average (3.5 GPA or A- at U of T) in each of the last two completed years of full-time study and may submit only one application per academic year to CIHR, NSERC, or SSHRC. Applications are submitted online with a research outline, transcripts, Canadian Common CV, and two reference assessments.
